What is Unity Gala?

This year, AASU is hosting our fifth annual Unity Gala on April 19th with UMD’s Office of Multicultural Involvement Community Advocacy (MICA) division. Through our annual Unity Gala, we aim to eliminate cultural barriers between different APIDA student groups on campus by uniting the diverse community in this culminating celebration during APIDA Heritage Month. The Asian American Student Union strives to extend the sphere of APIDA Organizations through this gala. In the wake of troubling and hostile events, Unity Gala is meant to create a space for celebration and appreciation of ideas, identities, and cultures.
