Yuri Kochiyama Leadership Program

This program is designed to help BIPOC high schoolers in the DMV learn more about the history of Asian American history and activism, strengthen their sense of identity, develop peer solidarity through learning about cross-racial and intersectional community building, and gain leadership skills while getting mentorship from college students.

Over five weeks, program participants will hear from knowledgeable guest speakers, build community and leadership, and create a final, culminating project!

The YKLP 2026 program is currently ongoing.
Come check again soon to see their final projects!

This program was named after Yuri Kochiyama, the celebrated Japanese American activist who advocated for justice and equity!
